Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about TruckerPro Border, from getting started to filing your first manifest.

General

TruckerPro Border is an electronic border clearing platform that lets trucking companies, freight brokers, and carriers file ACE and ACI eManifests quickly and accurately. It handles everything from manifest creation and validation to transmission to US CBP and Canada CBSA.

TruckerPro Border is designed for trucking companies, freight brokers, and carriers that cross the US-Canada border. Whether you're an owner-operator with a single truck or a fleet manager handling hundreds of crossings per month, the platform scales to your needs.

We built TruckerPro Border on a modern technology stack with three priorities in mind: speed, fair pricing, and real support. You get a permanent free tier with no credit card required, a clean interface that works on any device, and a real support team available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — not a ticketing queue.

No special equipment is required. TruckerPro Border runs entirely in your web browser — no plugins, no downloads, and no legacy software to install. It also works on our iOS and Android mobile apps, so you can file a manifest from your phone at the border in under 60 seconds.

Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS. We follow SOC 2 security practices for access controls, audit logging, and incident response. Your manifest data, driver information, and company details are never shared with third parties.

Yes. We offer a permanent free tier — not a time-limited trial — that includes 40 shipments per month at no cost, with no credit card required to sign up. You can use the free tier indefinitely and upgrade only when your volume grows.

Billing

A permanent free tier is available with 40 shipments per month. Paid plans start at $89.95/month for higher shipment volumes. All plans include the full feature set — ACE + ACI filing, real-time tracking, preflight validation, and 24/7 support. See our pricing page for full details.

Billing is monthly and in arrears — you are charged at the start of each month for the previous month's usage. If your shipment count puts you in a higher tier, we upgrade your plan automatically and bill the difference. You will always see a clear breakdown on your invoice.

Yes, you can cancel anytime with no contracts and no cancellation fees. Your account reverts to the free tier at the end of the current billing period, and your data is retained indefinitely so you can pick up where you left off.

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) via Stripe. All transactions are processed securely and your card details are never stored on our servers.

Technical

TruckerPro Border supports the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience and security. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Yes. TruckerPro Border is available on both iOS and Android. The mobile app lets drivers and dispatchers file manifests, check shipment status, and receive push notifications — all from their phone or tablet. See the mobile app page for details.

Yes. A REST API is available on Enterprise plans, allowing you to integrate border clearing directly into your TMS, dispatch software, or internal tools. Full documentation is available at our API docs.

Our support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via email and phone. Border crossings don't run on office hours, and neither do we. You can also reach us through the in-app chat widget or by visiting our contact page.

Compliance

ACE stands for Automated Commercial Environment, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) system for electronic manifest submissions. An ACE eManifest is required for all commercial truck shipments entering the United States and must be filed before the truck arrives at the border. Learn more on our ACE eManifest page.

ACI stands for Advance Commercial Information, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) system for electronic manifest submissions. An ACI eManifest is required for all commercial truck shipments entering Canada and must be transmitted before the truck arrives at the port of entry. Learn more on our ACI eManifest page.

PARS (Pre-Arrival Review System) is the Canada CBSA program for advance processing of commercial shipments entering Canada. PAPS (Pre-Arrival Processing System) is the equivalent US CBP program for shipments entering the United States. Both use barcoded release documents that allow customs to review and release cargo before it physically arrives at the border, reducing wait times significantly.

For ACE (US-bound), the manifest must be filed at least 1 hour before the truck arrives at the border. For ACI (Canada-bound), the manifest must be transmitted before arrival at the port of entry — timing requirements vary by commodity type and route. TruckerPro Border enforces these deadlines with preflight validation and alerts to keep you compliant.
