Submit your ACI eManifest data to CBSA electronically. This includes carrier, conveyance, crew, and shipment information for all goods crossing into Canada.
CBSA validates the data and returns an acceptance response. The 1-hour clock starts at this moment — not when you submitted the manifest.
The truck must not arrive at the Canadian port of entry until at least 1 hour after the acceptance time. Use this timer to track the remaining wait.
Once the 1-hour window has passed, the driver can proceed to the border. Present the lead sheet and PARS barcode to CBSA at the booth.
CBSA requires that ACI eManifest data be submitted and accepted at least 1 hour before a commercial truck arrives at a Canadian port of entry. The clock starts when CBSA sends the acceptance response, not when you submit the manifest. If a truck arrives before the 1-hour window has elapsed, the driver may be refused entry or face delays and penalties.
If a truck arrives at a Canadian port of entry before the 1-hour advance filing window has elapsed, CBSA may refuse entry, hold the truck for inspection, or impose administrative monetary penalties (AMPs). The driver will need to wait until the window is met before being processed.
Both ACI (Canada-bound) and ACE (US-bound) require advance electronic manifest filing at least 1 hour before arrival at the border. This timer is designed for the CBSA ACI process, but the same 1-hour principle applies to US CBP ACE filings as well.
